Information about new style trends from designers and celebrities is publicized through the internet and television as well as magazines aimed at younger readers. Parents and children are increasingly interested in what they wear and becoming more fashion conscious.

Many trends for children follow adult fashion although the materials used tend to be more hardwearing and outfits are styled for comfort as well and fashion with soft seams and simple fastenings. As with previous years which have seen hard financial times, the clothing trend for this year sees simple silhouettes and pared down, back to basics styling.

This season`s colors are inspired by nature and the great outdoors. Sea greens and blues as well as earthy tones of orange, red and brown will be popular as well as playful patterns and florals.

The current style for leggings for girls and women is set to continue throughout the year. This versatile clothing item is available in a variety of lengths from calf to ankle as well as a vast array of colors and patterns. This popular item can be worn with a tunic top or short dress, boots, ballet pumps or sandals.

Long lasting fabrics such as cotton and denim will be popular for both girls and boys, in the form of jeans, skirts and dresses. Denim is a tough fabric, withstands the most boisterous play and looks better as it wears.

Skirts are given a playful edge with ruffles and vibrant colors. Cut to hang on the knee and gathered at the waist to give maximum volume. A line shift dresses give simple clean lines with gorgeous prints and bright colors for a fun and stylish look. Polka dots and applique patterning will be returning to dresses and skirts while blouses and jackets can be used to create a more mature formal look for girls.

Boy`s trousers are mainly straight cut and designed for comfort and practicality, with soft seams and zipped pockets. Tops are practical and hard wearing with hooded tops staying in style as well as more mature styled shirts and blazers. Boy`s summer clothing will have bright playful Hawaiian prints on shirts and long shorts made from cotton for maximum comfort.

Jeans are always a popular choice for both boys and girls as they wear so well and are available in a wide variety of colors. Jeans which look faded or worn will be popular this year as well as girls jeans with simple floral embellishments for a feminine touch.

With many designers and retailers producing goods for children and specializing in children`s clothes and furniture, there are many more options available. By being able to choose their own fashion and room furniture such as beds and childrens desks they are able to experiment and create their own sense of style and space.

Reason #1 Great conversation starter. Ladies how many times have you been somewhere and complemented a complete stranger on something she had on? We women do it all the time. If we don’t we usually secretly envy the women that looks fashionable and stylish. Instead of being secretly envious, walk up to that woman and say ” What a great necklace you have on, where did you get it? There you go! You have started a conversation with a complete stranger. I get this all the time! Don’t worry though I carry jewelry on hand for those special occasions. Reason#2 Add dimension to any outfit. Without jewelry your outfits look like they are at the store hanging on the rack. Spice things up with a great pair of earnings that complement your outfit. Or a sparkly necklace.

Yes, we actually get this question at the $5 Dollar Jewelry Sale. We have a list of the top Five(yes we like that number) reasons you need to wear jewelry!

I studied color combinations in a class and learned which colors complement other colors. When I wear purple. I usually make the outfit pop with some great Turquoise earrings or pendant necklace.

Reason #3 Bring the Eye to your best asset. Your FACE! The eye follows shine, sparkle or color faster than anything else. When your wearing jewelry your eye follows. It’s the reason that Female TV personalities(news anchors especially) wear jewelry. They want you to stay focused on their face and watching their mouth. You tend to listen easier when your focused on someone mouth while they are talking.

Reason #4 Add Personality without being too over the top. If your loud and brassy try showing your quite side with a demure pendant and smaller earrings.
If your a quite type try wearing matching jewelry with your wardrobe to get things spiced up a bit. You will get plenty of eyes on you.

My favorite story about adding personality is the woman who’s mom paid for a makeover. She had a fresh hair cut and color, great outfit wonderful peep toe heels but no jewelry. She couldn’t find the perfect fit. Five Dollar Jewelry Lady to the rescue! I hooked her up with a beautiful sea foam blue necklace and matching earrings and a solid wood bangle. Well she came back that evening and purchased 150 bucks worth of jewelry! Why she had complements all day long. She even caught the eye of the doctor she was trying to catch! Woo hoo you go girl. Another Five Dollar Jewelry success story!

Reason #5 Change your wardrobe without changing your clothing. If you noticed most of the videos I’m I have the same couple of blouses on. Well yea! Every show has different jewelry. That is how you change up your look without changing your outfit! Change jewelry every time you wear the same clothing!

Why do women wear Sunday Church Suits on Easter or Resurrection Sunday?

Resurrection Sunday is the highest holy day in the Christian calendar. The tradition of putting on the “new” is directly related to the worship of Jesus Christ and his new beginning for mankind as expressed in the Resurrection. Women of the Church have always taken this to mean that Resurrection Sunday is the day when our clothing should express the newness of life that Christ has brought us. As we approach resurrection Sunday, women’s apparel manufacturers and retailers appear to have forgotten exactly why women dress up for Resurrection Sunday events. Christian women and in particular women of color in the Christian family know that the beautiful colors in suits, hats, scarves, shoes and handbags donned on this day, have a deeper meaning. The material side of purchasing and wearing the best Sunday-go-to-meeting clothes is not lost on them as they peruse the racks of finery in women’s ready to wear and designer clothing outlets throughout the country. In earlier days, many women would save their wages to buy that one special suit or outfit for Resurrection or Easter Sunday.

They would coordinate every piece of attire and carefully choose the most fitting yet affordable outfit for themselves. Some would have hats, gloves and scarves hand made for them. Sunday suits would be enhanced with fur trim and embroidery to create or refresh a look. Anything that they could present as their very best offering during worship would be considered as long as it was tasteful and attractive.

As Church women have become more affluent, women’s and ladies church suits, hats, coats, shoes, scarves and handbags have taken on a very well defined niche in the retail market. Yet, the women who wear these items, in most cases have not forgotten why they wear the very best they can on Resurrection Sundays. These Sunday suits have a meaning that is part of the demonstration of their belief. Even when Church women are not able to afford designer suits, even when they must “dress-for-less” they know that what they present as their very best, if it is presented in the true spirit of sacrifice and praise will not be rejected by their Lord and Savior.

So, whatever you chose to wear this Resurrection Sunday, be it a designer suit, hand sewn creation, or an updated Sunday suit classic from the past; if it is worn in humility and adoration of The Savior and is truly your very best; wear it knowing that putting on the “new” represents you acknowledging the truth of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Sunday-church-suits-for-less.com is a retail women’s clothing website for church women of all shapes and sizes. Our motto is “Fabulously Blessed and Dressed for Less (TM) .” Check us out at www.sunday-church-suits-for-less.com

We know you can't wait for Fall 2011....

Well Fashionista’s with Fashion Week almost at a close for Fall Winter 2011. I can do a mini review of what I thought was some of the great styles during this week.
BCBGMaxAzaria- I would have to say is one of my favorite designers. I love his long flowing simple but fashionable for the woman who wants ease and comfort. My favorite is his use of Cranberry. My favorite color
Tory Burch- Pretty Blouses are back Fashionbeater’s! Yes the pretty girl look is back. I loved her very feminine take on the wide leg pant trend that is coming back.
Joseph Alturarra-This newcomer is definitely having his moment in the spotlight. I loved his Kurt Cobain 90′s grunge with the sleek modern look of cut hemlines and edge military look. I definitely can’t wait to see more of his line.
Diane Von Furstenburg-DVF has created the ultimate American look over the many decades she has been in business. I loved her return of the round sunglasses as well as the clashing of prints.
Michael Kors- My personal favorite. 70′s is in the house. I loved the long flowing silhouettes. Reminded me of pictures I have seen from Studio 54 back in the day. My personal favorite was the Mauve fur and matching pant ensemble.
Overall this year’s fashion week will go down as again one of the best with lots of new designers gracing the stages and fan favorites showing the best of their newest collections. We know you can’t wait for Fall 2011.

I can’t even count how many times I have gone to a cosmetics store looking for a foundation that matches as closely to my natural color. I usually find that it is either too heavy, damages my skin, or isn’t the right shade.
Yeah, I know that most of us don’t think about our makeup that way. Besides, there are all tons of different brands we see in ads, magazines or even on television. I can’t even count how many times I have gone to a cosmetics store looking for a foundation that matches as closely to my natural color. I usually find that it is either too heavy, damages my skin, or isn’t the right shade. Then frustration sets in and I end up with 2 different companies’ foundation trying to get the perfect color for me.

Don’t even get me started talking about cosmetic ingredients! We don’t care to look at the ingredients of what’s in the cosmetics!
Did you know that just like your cleanser this is very important to do because some cosmetics carry harsh ingredient that damage the skin over time? These harsh ingredients cause you to look much older over the years.

Well I’m here to tell you there is a solution. I recently had a make-up sitting with Valorie Taylor of Flawless Air Cosmetics. From the moment I arrived at the studio with Valorie, I was treated and pampered by her staff that is made up of her son and daughter. She took a look at my skin and told me all about Flawless Air Cosmetics. She had me cleanse my face like I normally do and explained how the Air Brush System works. Using forced air through a handheld system, you place about 2 small drops into the air brush and test the color. She sprayed half of my face to test the color. The first test was a bit too bronzed. I liked this look possibly for summer. She told me to only splash water on my face and pat with a towel the foundation would come off. I was surprised when it did. All without scrubbing and the usual work it takes to get make up off. Valorie explained that Flawless Air Cosmetics are a mineral foundation made up of organic ingredients, such as water, Aloe Vera and so much more. She explained that this allows the skin to breathe. Valorie also stated that “unlike other cosmetics which you may find harmful ingredients like bismuth oxychloride which consist of lead and copper that irritates the skin or silicone, dimethicone causing the skin not to breath which may clog the pores and lead to break outs.” How many of us know what oxychloride is anyway?

I had the wonderful experience. Check out the pictures I took after my sitting with Valorie and her staff. It felt very light on my skin, and very delicate scent, and giving me the full coverage I wanted along with the right coloring for my skin. Again the best part of this is it comes right off with just one rinse and a pat of your towel. There is no need to get makeup remover before you cleanse your skin just rinse and pat and follow up with your regular cleanser of choice. Flawless Air Cosmetics is truly the next big thing in make-up.
